Our People

Dr. James Scerri Worley
James is the founding partner of the firm. He is a Maltese lawyer specialising mainly in commercial law, corporate matters, financial services legislation, trusts and tax structuring. After graduating as a lawyer in 2003 he was admitted to the Maltese Legal Bar in 2004. Pursuant to his B.A (Law and Music) and Doctor of Laws (LL.D) degrees, he also pursued a Masters degree in Financial Services (M.A.) at the University of Malta focusing mainly on Corporate law, Funds, Local and International Tax, and Trusts.

Dr. Andrew Grima

Andrew joined Advocates Primei in March 2012 as an Associate and is also a director of Primei Fiduciary Ltd. Andrew attained a Bachelors in Law (Laws and European Law) in 2008 from the University of Malta. He later attained a Doctorate of Laws from the same university in 2010 after submitting a thesis entitled “Asylum in the European Union: Content of Protection. A Comparative Review”.  Andrew holds a warrant to practice law in Malta and is a member of the Maltese bar association.

Vanessa Scerri Worley
Director & Consultant

Vanessa is a director of Primei Fiduciary Ltd and a regulatory and PMLFTR consultant of the firm. She is also the person responsible for Compliance issues within the group.  Vanessa attained a Bachelor in Commerce (Banking and Finance) in 2003 from the University of Malta, after submitting a thesis dealing with ‘Competition in Maltese Banking’.

Walter Cutajar
Director & Consultant

Walter Cutajar is a tax consultant to the firm and also a director of Primei Fiduciary Ltd. Having over 20 years experience in local and international tax practice, Walter maintains a reputation of adopting a commercial approach to his advice. Working with predominantly multi-national companies, he has provided structuring and transactional consultation on the complete range of corporate tax activities, including mergers and acquisitions, company reorganisations and cross-border restructurings.

Demi Agius
Junior Legal Officer

Demi joined Advocates Primei in August 2015 and  is working mainly on corporate law issues, trusts, AML and other compliance work.

Demi is in her final years of the law course at the University of Malta and is currently working on a dissertation entitled "The Transparency of Beneficial Ownership under the Fourth Anti-Money Laundering Directive: What is the Outcome?".  She has previous experience working as a corporate officer with a Maltese Corporate Service Provider.
